About the Speaker: Drayton Michaels, CTC
Drayton Michaels has been working with dogs professionally for over 8 years. He is a graduate of the SFSPCA Academy for Dog Trainers, known as ‘the Harvard for dog trainers’. At the academy, Drayton honed his dog training and behavior modification skills under the tutelage of world-renowned dog behavior experts. This opportunity provided Drayton with a keen understanding and application of modern, science-based techniques with an effective, positive, non-force approach. In addition to his academic studies, Drayton has logged countless volunteer hours with numerous shelters and rescue organizations, helping to foster, rehabilitate and train pit bulls.
Drayton is currently producing a documentary film called, Judging the Innocent. The film features the best and brightest professionals involved with humane, science-based canine training, behavior modification and research. Also included are some of the most well respected Pit Bull advocacy groups and of course a vast array of wonderful pit bull dogs and their loving responsible human companions.
As a certified professional dog trainer and behavior modification specialist, Drayton’s work is focused most specifically on rehabilitating and training Pit Bull dogs. He has a strong commitment to educating people to be responsible dog owners and provides them with the skills and knowledge to create the safest and strongest bond possible, while effectively training their dogs.
Recently Drayton has begun a canine enrichment program in association with the MCSPCA for Pit Bull dogs housed at the shelter. Three times a week Drayton works with dogs that are at the MCSPCA, making their stay at the MCSPCA a bit brighter and better preparing them for when they do finally get a forever home Drayton and his wife Vyolet are the proud owners of two Pit Bull dogs, Mojo and Keyshia.
